Two men have been arrested in the Sidon town of Sarafand on the suspicion of smuggling people from Syria into Lebanon, State Security announced in a statement Friday.

Syrian nationals identified as T.Kh. and A.Aa. were accused of "smuggling people into Lebanon in return for money" and of residing in the country illegally themselves, the statement said.

State Security said the suspects also confessed to previously belonging to the Nusra Front, which is now known as Jabhat Fatah al-Sham, and fighting with the group in Syria.
