The Lebanese Army killed one smuggler and injured another after they attempted to cross the Lebanese border illegally in the Bekaa region Friday.
A group of smugglers tried to illegally cross the Lebanese border in Tallet al-Manara and opened fire on Army forces, a statement from the Army said. The Army responded, killing one and injuring another while the rest fled to Syria. The Army arrested the injured smuggler and took him to a local hospital for treatment.
The Army said it is taking the necessary security measures to maintain stability and control at the border.
