An unknown assailant on a motorbike opened fire on a bakery in the Koura town of Ras Masqa, wounding a Syrian man who worked there, a security source told The Daily Star. The motivation for the attack on the Kaak Abu Arab bakery, which is part of a large commercial center in the town, was not immediately clear, the source said. The victim was reportedly hit by two bullets – one striking his waist, the other his leg. The assailant made a quick getaway on the motorbike while the victim was taken to the local Hayka Hospital for treatment.
