أفادت مراسلة " النشرة" في الشمال أن "دورية للجيش اللبناني داهمت منزل ي. ح. في منطقة باب الرمل بطرابلس المتهم باطلاق الرصاص على مكتب وزير العملمحمد كبارة ولم يتم العثور عليه".
وكانت اذاعة "صوت لبنان" قد لفتت إلى ان شخصين يستقلان دراجة نارية أطلقا الرصاص في الهواء أمام مكتب الوزيرمحمد كبارةفي شارع النجمة، وفرا إلى جهة مجهولة وعمل الجيش على ملاحقتهما.
