The National News Agency reported that A.N. was arrested by State Security in the southern district of Nabatieh.

The suspect allegedly admitted during questioning to digging underground passageways.

It's not clear where the tunnels are located.

The news agency said that the suspect had pictures on his cellphone that confirm the claims.

He has been residing illegally in the town of Touline in the district of Marjayoun.

The suspect was referred to the Internal Security Forces’ Information Branch for further questioning

Following a series of extremist attacks that rocked Lebanon in 2013 and 2014, security agencies boosted security and have routinely conducted preemptive measures against sleeper cells to deter any breach.
