أفاد مراسل "النشرة" في زحلة أن "مجهولين أقدموا ليلا على الدخول بواسطة الكسر والخلع إلى الكافيتريا المقابلة لسراي زحلة والتي تقع في نطاق حديقة تفصلُ البولفار بين الخطّين تعود لبلدية زحلة - المعلّقة وتعنايل، وسرقوا ما استطاعوا حمله وما توفّر أمامهم. وقد نالت علب الدخان النصيب الأكبر من السرقة، باستثناء علب الـ"Cedars" والـ"Viceroy" حيث قدرت قيمتها بـ250 ألف ليرة لبنانية، كما أقدموا على كسر صندوق المدّخرات، وقد باشر مخفر زحلة التحقيقات
