The relatives and supporters of ex-lawmaker Hasan Yaacoub Monday blocked roads in east Lebanon to protest the MP's "arbitrary and political detention."
Roads in the northern Bekaa towns and villages of Bidnayel, Beit Shama, Hawsh al-Rafqa, Timnin, and Riyaq were cut off for a while.
"The ongoing detention of (Yaacoub) is arbitrary and political," protesters said, demanding prominent Shiite leaders to end the case.
Yaacoub is a member of the Amal Movement, an ally of Hezbollah.
