On 17 Apr 15, inmates at Roumieh prison staged a riot at section D (Where they had been transferred earlier in 2015) and held hostage a number of guards (Around 20). At around 2220hrs, a fire erupted in the second floor of the section D and the civil defense managed to extinguish it. At around 0022hrs, the inmates allegedly agreed to release the guards.
