A Lebanese soldier, Milad Mohamad Issa, was killed and another injured on Thursday dawn when unknown assailants shot them in the northern Akkar district.

In details, the gunmen, who were riding a motorcycle, opened fire on the Lebanese Army soldiers (Milad Mohamad Issa and Mohamad Fakhr Eddine Haydar) at the junction of the town of al-Rihaniyeh around 4:30 am.
Following the attack, the military carried out patrols in the area and set up checkpoints to find the suspects.
The shooting sparked anger among al-Rihaniyeh's residents, who on Thursday morning blocked the main road of Rihaniyeh.
The protesters called for the immediate arrest of the assailants and expressed their support to the Army.
