The road to Qobayat Square was closed on Friday morning and classes were interrupted after the residents of the town announced public mourning in protest against the martyrdom of soldier Jean Jamal Al-Hashem.
The road was also cut off at Menjez village's entrance as some young men from Bireh were trying to block the main street at the crime scene in solidarity with the Army.
