On 20 Sep 16, in Ain El-Helweh camp – Saida, residents held a general strike in protest to the recurrent killings in the camp. UNRWA schools, business, health and social institutions were closed. The main road in the al-Tahtani street was blocked in condemnation of the crimes targeting the security and stability of the camp. The strike came at the invitation of the Popular Palestinian Committees that rejected recurrent killings and in solidarity with the family of a killed person whom stated that the strike will be open and the road will be blocked until the perpetrators are found and punished.
