On 02 July 16, activists belonging to “Clean Lebanese” campaign held a demonstration to protest the creation of a landfill on the Metn district's coastal area, east of Beirut. The protest comes only three days after the Council for Development and Reconstruction announced that it has granted a company permission to start works on a landfill in Metn’s town of Burj Hammoud.
