A dozen protesters held a brief and unannounced protest against electricity cuts in Beirut Tuesday, blocking a major highway linking the city to the southern suburbs.
According to The Daily Star's photographer, the protesters set fire to piles of garbage on the highway leading to the roundabout near the Kuwaiti Embassy.
Lebanese Army troops immediately rushed to the scene and reopened the road, he said.
