On 08 Nov 16, the Internal Security Forces busted a prostitution and human trafficking ring in east Lebanon, detaining four of its members. The ring allegedly lured Syrian women to work in Lebanon in the Bekaa Valley. The ISF arrested the subjects after conducting an extensive investigation and surveillance. The suspects were identified by their initials and their ages range between 31 and 42. The suspects confessed to facilitating prostitution of a number of Syrian girls who had fled their homes due to their heinous treatment they were subjected to. They also admitted to luring the girls from Syria and forcing them into prostitution by beating them and confiscating their identification papers. One of the suspects, identified as S.Sh., allegedly confessed to selling a girl in exchange for LL1,000,000 ($666). The 22-year-old wife of one of the suspects was also arrested since she was wanted on charges of human trafficking.
