Police Sunday detained a man who threatened to kill his wife with a rifle after she fled with her children to her parents’ house in northern Lebanon.
A statement issued by the Internal Security Force said that the Zgharta police station received information that J.M. was being threatened by her husband, who showed up with an unidentified man outside her parents’ house in Zgharta.
He was seeking to take his children by force.
Police officers managed to pursue the man and raid a house that he took refuge in and arrested him.
He was identified as 34-year-old S.H.
Police searched his vehicle and confiscated two Kalashnikov rifles, seven ammunition belts, 200 bullets and two hand grenades
