Mount Lebanon police uncovered two mobile phones hidden in a double-bottom cooking pot at Lebanon’s central prison, a statement from the Internal Security Forces announced.

Police agents in charge of inspecting incoming foodstuffs and materials to the Central Prison in Metn’s Roumieh said the additional layer in the pot where the two phones were found was “professionally crafted” for the purpose of smuggling, the ISF statement read.

The guards detained a Lebanese national identified by his initials R.Aa. on charges of smuggling the phones into the prison for one of the inmates, the statement added. The man, 27, is currently under investigation.
