A man was arrested on suspicion of smothering a woman to death in Zghorta.

The body of Rayya Chidiac was found in her parent's home in the town of Mizyara on September 22. Autopsies found the body was bruised and bore signs of suffocation, as well as sexual assault.

Investigations centred on a doorman – identified as B.H., born in Syria in 1991 - who had been working in the building for the past three years, the statement added. He was arrested by a unit form the ISF Information Branch and it they discovered scratches on his body that authorities believed was the result of Chidiac fighting back against him during the attack. During the questionning, he admitted to entering the villa on September 20 while the owners were away, but did not found any cash. He came back when the victim was home, on September 22.
