Police managed to arrest two members of drugs and fake currency ring in Choueifat and Beirut’s southern suburbs, the Internal Security Forces announced.

ISF said that the members of the network have been noticed frequently heading to an aparment in al-Tiro, Choueifat.

A patrol raided the apartment on Thursday morning, arresting two members of the network.

They were identified as 32-year-old Aa.H and 20-year-old Aa.Z were arrested during the raid.

Police found and confiscated from the apartment a large quantity fake currency and drugs.

The confiscated items were classified into 37.835 kilograms of hashish, 1.215 kilograms of cocaine, 275 grams of base cocaine, 3.375 kilograms of marijuana, 1.950 kilograms of salvia, 345 grams of heroin and 2.960 kilograms of a variety of colored pills, including cemo, ketamine and tramadol.

A scale, $500 of forged U.S. currency, L.L 3,220,000 ($2,147) of forged Lebanese currency, two stolen checks, a stolen motorcycle, six phones, a gun and a hand grenade were also found in the apartment.

The suspects were referred to the judiciary and investigations are underway to arrest the remaining member of the drug ring.
