Three armed men had broken into a company called AHM, fleeing the scene with the cash.

The ISF said that investigations led them to the mastermind behind the operation.

The 50-year-old suspect identified as F.S. was arrested in the town of Ablah in the eastern district of Zahle in a Jeep Grand Cherokee carrying a fake license plate.

Police also found bag containing LL100,000,000($66,666) in the vehicle.

The suspect had a criminal record and was released from prison in August last year.

Investigations into his accomplices are underway.
