The Internal Security Forces announced the arrest of a Syrian member of a car theft gang in the eastern Lebanon city of Baalbeck.

23-year-old Syrian Aa.L was arrested on charges of coordinating with others to steal cars from Beirut and Mount Lebanon, and transport them to Brital.

Upon questioning, police found that he, along with others, had stolen eight cars, six Kia Sporting 4x4s, a Kia Picanto and a Hyundai i10.

The suspect was referred to the judiciary to stand trial and investigations are underway to identify and catch the rest of the gang.
