Police arrest man trying to frame school colleague for drug use
Police arrested a man who worked in a school in east Lebanon when he attempted to frame his colleague for possession of drugs, the Internal Security Forces announced Friday.
Syrian national Aa. M. born in 1995, was arrested Wednesday after admitting to placing an amount of drugs in the pocket of a jacket belonging to Syrian national Aa. H., born in 1986, the ISF said in a statement.
Both Aa. M. and Aa. H. worked at a school in Zahle’s Saadnayel, the statement added.
“The investigative unit in the Bekaa arrested Aa. H. on Jan. 29 at the school where he worked, for possession of Salvia Divinorum drugs,” the statement explained. Salvia Divinorum, comonally called just Salvia, is a plant species with transient psychoactive properties consumed in a tea, by chewing or by smoking.
During questioning, fingers were pointed at his co-worker, Aa. M, who turned out to have planted the drugs and then informed the police about Aa. H.
“It was the result of personal disputes that between the two,” the statement said, adding that Aa. M. had a bench warrant for drug-related charges against him.
He was referred to ISF's anti-drugs regional office in the Bekaa.
