BEIRUT: Internal Security Forces announced the arrest of a man suspected of selling artifacts from Syria in east Lebanon’s Western Bekaa area.
A 30-year-old Syrian national identified as H.K. was arrested in the Western Bekaa town of al-Marj last week, the ISF said in a statement.
Police confiscated several unsold artifacts, including Islamic and Byzantine money for sale at $4000, as well as an old 250 lira bill for sale at $30,000.
The artifacts are suspected of being stolen from Syria and sold in Lebanese territory.
