BEIRUT: Police arrested a burglar after a video surfaced on social media showing the culprit breaking into a van, the Internal Security Forces announcedy. According to the ISF statement, the video showed a man breaking into a parked Renault Rapid in Mreijeh, in the Baabda district. After identifying the burglar – 35-year-old Aa.K. – authorities raided his house in Hay al-Sellom in Beirut’s southern suburbs, seizing six universal car keys, drug paraphernalia and tools commonly used in robberies. The suspect allegedly confessed to 50 robberies in Mreijeh, Hay al-Sellom and Tahwitat al-Ghadir. He has been taken into custody and referred to the judiciary for further questioning.
