Police arrested five people in Beirut’s southern suburbs on drug charges, an Internal Security Forces statement said.

Following extensive investigations, a police patrol from Mount Lebanon arrested two Syrians, two Palestinians and a Lebanese man in Burj al-Barajneh south of Beirut.

Police allegedly confiscated almost 2 kilograms of hashish, some of which packed in aluminum foil, in addition to approximately to $4,230.

A rifle, a motorbike and several mobile phones were also seized.

The suspects were handed over to the judiciary for further legal action.
