Police arrest 4 over Beirut bus robberies

Police arrested four men who picked up passengers in a bus and then robbed them at gun point, the Internal Security Forces said Thursday.
The four Lebanese nationals belong to a gang led by a suspect identified by the initials B.O., 31, who was arrested along with his partners in a raid on their residences in Beirut’s southern suburb, an ISF statement said.
The alleged partners in crime were identified by initials H.O., 24, H.H., 37, and H.J., 31.
Other members of the gang, whose names were given up by the leader, are still on the run.
The suspects allegedly confessed to committing more than 20 robberies, mostly concentrated on the highway linking Khaldeh to Damour.

According to the statement, the mob leader had been convicted with armed robbery in the past, and two arrest warrants had been issued against him. H.O. had received four arrest warrants against him.
