The official, Ismail Sharrouf, at the Embassy of Palestine survived an assassination attempt while he was in his car near the Central Bank in Sidon, National News Agency reported.
A hail of bullets were fired on Sharrouf's car and he got slightly injured.
He was transferred to one of Beirut hospitals under a Lebanese security guard, the same reporter concluded.
