Hamas media bureau released afternoon a press release saying that "Mohammad Hamdan was an official from the Palestinian Hamas Movement in Sidon and a refugee living in Lebanon." 

The Palestinian national was injured in the area of al-Bustan al-Kabir in Sidon, when he opened the door and the bomb went off. 

Hamdan survived the assassination attempt and got minor injuries on his foot. 

"Preliminary investigations seem to point to a Zionist involvement in this attack," the statement indicated. 

"Lebanese security agencies are following-up on the bombing," the Movement concluded.
