أعلنت قيادة الجيش مديرية التوجيه أنه "في إطار الإجراءات الأمنية التي ينفذها الجيش في مختلف المناطق اللبنانية، أوقفت دورية تابعة لمديرية المخابرات في منطقة بعلبك بتاريخ 5/4/2016، المواطن (ع. أ. ع.) لإرتباطه بمجموعات إرهابية، وإقدامه على تهريب أسلحة وذخائر لمصلحة إحداها، وعلاقته المباشرة بـ(الإرهابي السوري "أ. م." الملقب بـ"أبي مالك")، وتواصله مع الإرهابيين المطلوبين (ع. إ. ص.) و(م. ج.) الملقب بـ(محمد دورة)، بالإضافة إلى إقدامه على مقاومة رجال الأمن وإطلاق نار وحيازة أسلحة وذخائر حربية".
