Customs officials at Beirut’s Rafik Hariri International Airport foiled a smuggling operation of Captagon pills bound for Oman. Chief of Customs Brig. Gen. Assad al-Tufayli and General Director of Customs Badri Daher personally oversaw the seizure of over 1 million tablets from four large trucks. This is one of many regular seizures of smuggled Captagon pills, as production and smuggling of the drug in Lebanon has increased since the start of the neighboring Syrian conflict.
