TRIPOLI, Lebanon: Guards and police were on high alert in the Qibbeh prison in north Lebanon’s Tripoli after an inmate managed to steal a set of cell keys.

A source told The Daily Star that the Internal Security Forces began a search operation at the detention center to locate the stolen keys.

Families members were barred from visiting inmates due to the security measures, prompting them to rally outside the facility.

Families are normally allowed to visit their relatives at the facility on Saturdays.
