BEIRUT: North Lebanon police busted a kidnapping and extortion ring comprised of Bangladeshi and Lebanese nationals, the Internal Security Forces.
The ring had allegedly abducted a 35-year-old Bangladeshi national last month, who was identified as H.S., and subsequently released him after receiving an $8,000 in exchange for his release.
He was held for three days.
The ISF said that the suspects had demanded the ransom from the abductee's family in Bangladesh.
Qalamoun police arrested the suspects in the northern district of Tripoli.
The kidnapping ring was comprised of three Bangladeshis and two Lebanese nationals, ranging from the ages of 26 to 35.
