The Internal Security Forces announced the arrest of four men connected to the robbery of the Nestle company’s office in the Jisr al-Basha neighborhood near Hazmieh. The robbery took place on July 6 when two armed and masked men stormed Nestle’s accounting office, immobilizing employees – reportedly with pepper spray – before escaping on a motorcycle with LL104 million ($69,000). The ISF determined that more than two suspects were involved in the crime, as the suspects abandoned their motorcycle at a predetermined location and were picked up by a third suspect. The fourth suspect worked at Nestle and was discovered riding the motorcycle used in the robbery.

The suspects, all Syrian nationals, were arrested in Kfar Shima, Choueifat and Burj Abi Haidar. A total of $7,721 was recovered along with a stolen gun from the home of one of the suspects in Choueifat. The suspects confessed to the robbery and were referred to the judiciary.
