On 04 May 16, the Muslim Scholars Committee protested outside the Russian Embassy in Beirut against the ongoing bombardment of the Syrian city of Aleppo. The few dozen demonstrators condemned Russia and blamed it for the violence, holding pictures showing scenes from the devastated city and banners denouncing Russian intervention in the five-year conflict.
