An alleged retaliatory crime left one man dead in the Baabda district village of Ras al-Metn Thursday morning. The Internal Security Forces have arrested a suspect in the incident, according to the National News Agency. Nazem Najib Hatoum, 40, was killed in the village in what appeared to be a revenge crime, linked to a four-year long dispute over a piece of land which led, at the time, to the killing of Makram Mazen Hatoum, NNA reported. Hatoum, is from the Baabda district village of Kfar Salwan, but resided in Ras al-Metn. Security forces launched an investigation into the incident and arrested a suspect named A.H. in the incident. Hatoum’s death comes two days after Marcelino Zamata, in his late 20s, was stabbed to death Tuesday night in the Ashrafieh neighborhood of Beirut.
