ذكرت المديرية العامة لقوى الأمن الداخلي في بيان أنه "عند الساعة 14.00 من تاريخ 16/8/2017 غادر السوري احمد حمود (مواليد عام 1996) على متن دراجته الآلية من منطقة الوزاني متوجهاً الى بلدة الخيام، وانقطع الاتصال به بعد مرور عدة ساعات. وفي اليوم التالي، تم العثور على دراجته في محلة بئر القنديل / النبطية"، مشيرة الى أنه "بتاريخ 17/8/2017، ادعت زوجته الحامل في الشهر الخامس (آ. ع. ، مواليد عام 1997) لدى مخفر الخيام في وحدة الدرك الاقليمي، بفقدانه".
