وطنية - صدر عن قيادة الجيش - مديرية التوجيه التوضيح الآتي:

"ردا على ما أورده أحد المحامين على صفحته على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي عن توقيف مديرية المخابرات لأحد القاصرين، ومحاولته استغلال ذلك للنيل من المؤسسة العسكرية، توضح قيادة الجيش أن القاصر المشار إليه يدعى عثمان اسماعيل ويعرف بعثمان التكريتي، مواليد عام 2000، وقد أوقف في تاريخ 12/11/2015 لكونه واحدا من مجموعة مرتبطة عبر الواتساب بالإرهابي الموقوف عبد الرحمن الكيلاني، وقد ثبت بعد توقيف عدد من أفراد هذه المجموعة، أنها كانت تخطط لاستهداف مراكز عسكرية وعسكريين والقيام بعمليات إرهابية بواسطة انتحاريين من بينهم العديد من القاصرين.

وقد اعترف الموقوف إسماعيل خلال التحقيق الذي أجري معه في حضور مندوب قضائي عن محكمة الأحداث، بأنه قابل أحد أفراد المجموعة المشار إليها ويدعى عمر القاسم (أوقف لاحقا) وحصل نقاش بينهما حول مدى استعداد إسماعيل لتنفيذ عملية انتحارية، وقد أبدى الأخير استعداده لذلك، لكنه ادعى أنه اضطر الى التظاهر بالقبول خشية تعرض تنظيم "داعش" له في حال رفض القيام بهذه العملية.
