SIDON, Lebanon: South Lebanon police arrested a 19-year-old who shot his mother and a policeman, a source told The Daily Star. Aa. Aa., from the town of Shehabieh near Tyre, shot and killed his mother with a rifle before running out into the street and randomly opening fire, the source said. An Internal Security Forces recruit, identified as H.S., was also shot in the abdomen during an attempt to arrest the suspect, the source said. The ISF managed to disarm the teen and detained him, the source said. The teen suffers from a mental illness, according to the source.
