Inside the emergency room of a south Lebanon hospital, doctors exerted all their efforts to save the life of Palestinian Mohammad Omar Khodeir who set himself on fire Tuesday in the nearby Burj al-Shemali camp. The burns covered Khodeir’s face, chest and right hand. His facial features were almost unrecognizable, hidden behind tubes and breathing apparatus. Wrapped in gauze, the doctors at Tyre’s Jabal Amel Hospital used powder to treat the burns before transferring him by Lebanese Red Cross ambulance to a special burn treatment center at Nabih Berri University Hospital in Nabatieh. Khodeir, who suffers from thalassemia, a hereditary blood disorder, set himself alight in protest against a change in health care and hospitalization regulations by the Palestinian refugee agency, UNRWA. http://www.dailystar.com.lb/News/Lebanon-News/2016/Jan-13/331605-man-set...
