A Palestinian woman is at large after beating her husband unconscious with a slotted cooking spoon Tuesday, neighbors of the couple told The Daily Star.

A domestic dispute Tuesday between the husband and wife in the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp in Sidon ended with the husband unconscious in a nearby hospital.

Neighbors who helped transport the man, identified as 60-year-old Palestinian Aa.Aa., said he lost consciousness and incurred “head injuries” after his wife allegedly beat him with the large spoon during a “family quarrel.”

The couple lives in Ain al-Hilweh’s Baraksat neighborhood.

Sidon police went to the hospital where the husband was receiving treatment to investigate the incident. Sources said the wife was nowhere to be found, though police had recovered the spoon.
