A Lebanese was arrested Monday on suspicion of shooting a woman in south Lebanon, a security source told The Daily Star.

Identified as H.S., he was arrested at the Burj al-Shemali refugee camp near Tyre by security forces hours after the crime took place.

He is accused of shooting 35-year-old Aa.Aa.in the stomach, who was rushed to Jabal Amel Hospital in Tyre.

Doctors said that she was critical conditions.

Security forces have opened an investigation on the matter.
