أعلنت المديرية العامة لقوى الامن الداخلي في بيان انه "في اطار سياسة الأمن الوقائي ومتابعة النشاطات الإرهابية الجدية المعتمدة من قبل شعبة المعلومات في قوى الأمن الداخلي، وبنتيجة المتابعة تمكنت من تحديد وجود نشاط مشبوه من قبل المدعو: و. ر. ( مواليد عام 1996, سوري )

على الاثر، اوقف من قبل قوة خاصة من هذه الشعبةفي محلة عرمون. بالتحقيق معه، اعترف بانه دخل الاراضي اللبنانية عام 2011. منذ حوالي السنتين وفي محلة صبرا تعرف على اشخاص موالين لتنظيم داعش الارهابي. تأثر بالمذكورين واعجب بفكر التنظيم واصبح يتابع اخباره عبر مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي. ومنذ حوالي السنة تعرف على (ع. خ. )(مواليد عام 1998، سوري) واستطاع اقناعه بفكر تنظيم داعش وارسل له العديد من الاصدارات والفيديوهات الخاصة بالتنظيم.
