BEIRUT: Police arrested a thief who had stolen $30,000 worth of money and jewelry from a house in Beirut, the Internal Security Forces announced.

The statement said that the 46-year-old robber, identified as H.A., was detained on Tuesday.

The suspect, according to ISF, had broke into the house in Ras Beirut earlier this month and managed to flee with the cash and items.

Following a search of his home on Caracas Street near Hamra, the police found over $8,000 dollars in cash and most of the jewelry that had been reported missing.

The ISF also announced that they had arrested 100 people wanted for different crimes, including robbery and drug-dealing.
