On 26 Apr 17, in Kamd El Lawz, the Police arrested two (2) Lebanese nationals over their alleged affiliation with ISIS. The suspects admitted during interrogation to following the militant group's ideology, communicating with ISIS cadres in the northern city of Raqqa, the group's stronghold, with intent to join the ranks of the extremist organization in the neighboring country. They also admitted recruiting a number of friends and persuaded them to move to Syria to fight in ISIS’s ranks. One of the suspects had received an online file containing instructions on manufacturing explosives of various kinds via the internet.
