The Directorate General of Customs issued a statement saying that it thwarted a second attempt to smuggle a quantity of cocaine through Rafiq Hariri International Beirut Airport.
The Customs Anti-Drug Division and the Central Anti-Drugs Office of the Internal Security Forces jointly succeeded in seizing a total number of 10.8 Kg of cocaine hidden in black envelopes inside a luggage coming aboard Turkish Airlines from Venezuela to Beirut via Istanbul airport.
The Central Anti-Drug Office of the Internal Security Forces launched an investigation into the incident.
