A Lebanese man was arrested on suspicion of impersonating a United Nations official in order to run scams.
 
He was the mastermind of a network of similar scam artists that General Security has previously arrested members of. The suspect was charged with using forged documents and fake diplomatic cards identifying him as a United Nations official. He is accused of using his fake credentials to scam Syrian refugees in Lebanon. The suspect is believed to have told refugees that he could secure immigration visas to Canada in exchange for a substantial amount of money.
