On 21 Dec 16, the Lebanese Army detained three suspects in dawn raids in northeast Lebanon. An Army Intelligence unit raided the houses of fugitives in Marej neighborhood in the city of Hermel, arresting three individuals wanted on several arrest warrants. They were identified as Mohammad Alaweh, Nadim Alaweh, and Murshed Nassereddine. An Egyptian, Hasan Najjar, was also detained for not carrying identification papers. Four Klashnikovs, light ammunition, military equipment and 160 kilograms of hashish were seized in the operation. The detainees and confiscated items were handed over to the relevant authorities.
