Forces from the army's Directorate of Intelligence detained the suspects during a raid of houses in Masnaa, near the border with Syria, the army said in a statement.

The army arrested one Lebanese suspect, Fadi Saleh, along with a Syrian national who was said to be assisting him.

The army found eight Syrians who lacked legal papers and were allegedly being detained against their will inside one of the houses, the statement said.

The soldiers also found a gun, light ammunition, military equipment, electronics and surveillance cameras, as well as two cars allegedly used for smuggling and documents belonging to the Syrian nationals.
