SIDON, Lebanon: The Lebanese Army arrested three supporters of radical preacher Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir in south Lebanon, a security source told The Daily Star. The source said that the military arrested Feras Q., Radwan S. and Rafik D. over their links to Assir. Radwan was released previously after his arrest over the same case. The three suspects are among dozens of supporters who have been taken into custody recently, following a thwarted suicide-bombing in Beirut last month.
