On 20 Jan 17, the Lebanese Army Forces (LAF)  raided a Syrian refugee compound in south Lebanon in Al-Ouzai compound on the northern entrance to the city of Saida. The unit searched two adjacent buildings and inspected the identification documents and residency permits of the refugees. More than 50 refugees from different age groups were arrested over illegal residency and were taken to an undisclosed detention center.
