The Lebanese Army arrested a man in the town of Bablieh, near the southern city of Sidon for killing his brother and injuring his father, a source told The Daily Star.

Ahmad Mohammad Chahine shot his younger brother Rami, who died instantly, and his father inside their house in the southern town.

The father was taken to the Labib Medical Center for treatment.

The source said that the shooting spree stemmed from a dispute over the family’s inheritance of the father’s assets, who had been suffering from an illness prior to the incident.

Ahmad searched for his other brother after murdering the first, but did not find him. He made his way back home and was arrested by the Information Branch of the Lebanese Army while smoking a cigarette outside his house.
